About Angus Kirk

Angus has more than 14 years' experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer advising on the structuring and delivery of a wide range of transactions both in the context of the international development sector and UK private equity sector. He has particular experience in recent years of advising on the structuring, establishment, financing and on-going governance of multi-funder development initiatives across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions. Angus regularly advises on a wide range of issues arising in the context of the public funding of international development initiatives including public law, regulatory issues and procurement rules. Between May 2009 and May 2012, Angus combined his work at MDY Legal with working as an in-house consultant to the UK Department for International Development's (DFID) Investment and Finance Team most recently advising on the disposal by DFID of its interest in the emerging market fund manager, Actis LLP. Prior to joining MDY Legal at the end of 2007, Angus spent nearly 10 years working as a corporate lawyer in the City of London, first at Travers Smith and subsequently at Hogan Lovells, during the course of which he advised on a wide range of transactions including acquisitions and disposals, buy-outs and IPOs.
