About Angus Weekes
Angus Weekes is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Max Planck Queensland Centre (MPQC) and Cartilage Regeneration Laboratory (CRL) at the QUT Centre for Biomedical Technologies. As a medical engineer and biomaterials scientist, Angus has a diverse skillset in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research, with experience in clinical and industry settings. During his PhD, Angus developed expertise in bioreactor tissue cultures, 3D cell culture, advanced additive manufacturing, melt electrowriting (MEW) and mechanical engineering, working toward the biofabrication of tissue-engineered vascular grafts. Angus has industry experience working as a R&D Engineer and has substantial project management skills, demonstrating effective supervision of multiple Honours students and interns across various projects. Angus has also taught extensively in the Faculty of Engineering at QUT, with a passion for mentoring students in the field.
