Ania Basak is recognized as one of Alberta’s most influential women in the fashion & beauty industry. A Polish expat, she is proudly Canadian. As Founder and President of Fashion Calgary, and co-founder of Fashion Calgary’s Portrait Campaign,she is credited as a major contributing factor in getting Calgary designated as the Cultural Capital of Canada in 2012. Ania’s vast experience includes being a professional Makeup Artist, Image Consultant & Personal Shopping Assistant.She has worked with or for Giorgio Armani,Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Olaf Tabaczynski and was also the Education/Training Coordinator & PR/Media Representative for Guerlain Paris Canada in Alberta.From academic background,she is a Music Major who earned an MBA at Law & Administration from the University in Poland. Her academic achievements earned her numerous scholarships which were presented to her by the Prime Minister of Poland. Along with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Ania started a non-profit Musical Camps for Kids, and together with her husband has created a partnership with Alberta Children’s Hospital and its Foundation to raise awareness and funds for their Brain Health Division through Fashion Calgary’s annual Portrait Campaign and exclusive Gala event.In 2016 she is partnering with Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
