About Ania Torres

I have been working in the Mental Health field for three years specializing in trauma, anxiety and interpersonal difficulties across all ages. During the internship year of my master's program, I worked at a local private practice in my community providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents and parents. After becoming a Registered Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, I had the oppurtunity to continue working under my supervisor at The Therapy Labs by Rosa Barroso, LMHC — while, also building my own private practice: ATC Therapeutics. Working at Pembroke Pines Police Department as a Victim Advocate I provide assistance to anybody who has been a victim or witness of a crime in the city. I focus on providing Crisis Intervention while educating/assisting my victims in coping with the physical and psychological effects of trauma. While working at the police deparment, I have also received a lot of training on first responder trauma and mental health. Someday, I hope I can combine my expertise in the mental health profession and knowledge on first responders into my long-term career by also providing assistance to first responders in my community. For my overall approach, I focus on creating a safe space to assist you in your journey to self-discovery and authenticity, while also providing a non-judemental and empthatic enviornment where you can thrive. Techniques used are evidenced based practices tailored to one’s specific needs in the journey of self-discovery while, also uncovering a deeper sense of self-awareness.
