About Anika Patel

I have over 15 years of PMO administration and analysis experience and 5 years of Project Controls Management experience. I have worked in project management offices in different sectors (construction, retail, oil & gas and investment banking), which has given me well rounded experience of how different PMO’s are run and how reporting is carried out. I am quick to grasp new ideas and concepts and use innovative and creative solutions to problems. I work independently and collaborate with my team using initiative and demonstrate the high levels of motivation required to meet the tightest of assignment deadlines. I enjoy building and maintaining positive working relationships. Even under pressure, I possess a strong ability to perform efficiently and effectively. I am always punctual, reliable, and organised. I also have experience in quality assurance, change management and process improvement, along with following APM and Prince2 methodologies when working on projects. I have shared my learning from A303 and Houses of Parliament to Ministry of Justice and other assigned projects to drive process improvement. I have been involved with visualisation and lean on the A303 Stonehenge Project and understand the importance of how effective visualisation can help efficiently deliver a project. Having been the interface among different workstreams, I understand the importance of effective communication and how the PMO can ensure positive results and an efficient level of collaboration between functions. I also understand the importance of being organised, and having good co-ordination with the client and PMO, to ensure that requirements and data are gathered and collated in a timely manner for leadership reviews. My knowledge gained from all the projects that I have been working on, along with the PMO, change management, lessons learned and reporting experience I have, will make me an invaluable member of the team. I was developing my Project Controls Management skills in a change management and lessons learned role within the PMO Moves team at Parliament. I was also managing, implementing and maintaining the reporting and lessons learned, change control and stakeholder management processes at Ministry of Justice for over 2 years and widening my project control experience by having managed the prison programmes that were allocated to me from a PMO and project controls perspective.
