About Anina Monte

I began my career as an Assistant District Attorney for Kings County, in the Sex Crimes and Abuse Unit. It was there that I tried my first case, getting the feel for the Court room and a leg up to be promoted to an ADA in the Felony Crime Division. During my tenure as an ADA I conducted field investigations along side the NYPD and Grand Jury investigations and presentations, indicting over one hundred cases. Before leaving the DA's office I tried multiple cases to verdict in the Supreme Court. After four years, I decided to take my career into a new direction, becoming an associate in a small boutique litigation practice where I defended hospitals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and rehabilitation centers in matters involving general and professional liability. Several years after starting this new field I joined a small group of attorneys who represented a conglomerate of real estate entities, whose primary share holders invested in Nursing and Rehabilitation centers. That work took my skills to a whole new level; incorporating my litigation and trial experience in general and professional liability, I began negotiating and litigating in several new fields including real estate, employer/employee liability, and coverage issues. Together with my law partner and mentor Peter Bower, I then formed Bower Law, P.C, where my practice continued to grow. As the partner in charge of several key client accounts, I took the time to develop my personalized approach to each case. Whether you are a business owner being sued for a patron's slip and fall or a physician/professional defending a professional liability allegation, I will sit with you and discuss how you want the case to be defended. I work tirelessly to ensure that all aspects of a case are fully explained and that the best defense is developed in line with your strategic and financial goals. While it is possible for any case to end up in front of a jury, many times a positive resolution can be achieved without going into a Court room. In taking this approach I have negotiated cases directly and in all forms of dispute resolution. I have success before the trial courts, motion courts, and the Appellate Division. My clients come to me with their worst events, it is my job to counsel them through it, investigate the best defense, and defend them to a positive conclusion. I graduated the University at Albany in 1996. I received my JD from Albany Law School in I am admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey as well as the Federal Eastern District of New York.
