I currently serve as the Assistant for Environmental Compliance for the Assistant Secretary of the Army - Installation, Energy, and Environment (ASA(IEE)). I have 23 years of Federal service.I was a program/project manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). I assisted with the management of the Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) program for the Far East District (FED). I have prepared human resources documentation, participated in the selection of interns, and general implementation of the program. Facilitated workshops on resume writing and military styled briefings.I participated in the Field Force Engineering Support Team (FEST-A voluntary) with US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District (NAB), I am a certified member since September 2009. Assisted with recruiting and mentoring. Participated in annual equipment training, field exercises, and program-wide training for all USACE FEST teams. This position was a support role and voluntary in addition to my normal responsibilities as a Design Manager.Served as the Project Engineer for the Engineering and Construction Division at Gulf Region Central District (GRC). I provided reviews of pre-award, modification of scopes of work and provide technical input for Acquisition Strategy Plans.Emergency Response (FEMA related assignment) Hurricane Katrina Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor. I managed the debris removal team which consisted of about 15 people. Responsible for various administrative tasks and contract oversight. Maintained constant contact with the prime contractor and sub-contractors to ensure the contract was being followed and no additional costs were incurred. Enforced safety regulations and guidance in accordance to HQUSACE regulations and guidance's.
