About Anja Debo

Teaching has always held profound significance for me, representing a powerful responsibility. As an educator, my approach is to inspire students to explore their full potential by imparting academic knowledge while cultivating meaningful relationships with each student. I firmly believe that a rich learning environment can only thrive when these two aspects coexist. My objective is to create a safe, supportive environment where students can relish physical activity, enhance self-confidence, expand knowledge of health-related fitness, and discover pathways to lifelong physical well-being. While teaching PE, my purpose extends beyond nurturing the body and movement skills; it encompasses the holistic development of students. Physical education offers a unique platform to educate students about movement, strategic thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and the importance of health-related fitness, aligning with the International Baccalaureate (IB) standards. This contributes significantly to the comprehensive growth of students. In my teaching, I set achievable goals for students and challenge them to reach new heights and personal bests. I advocate for a variety of assessments that gauge students' progress and improvements, offering tangible evidence of their growth. These assessments, including projects, journals, task achievement checklists, and quizzes, track their journey and inspire them to continue pushing boundaries.
