About Anja Tetzner

During the past years of working in laboratories I have gained a though knowledge and understanding of a wide range of laboratory methods and techniques. I have a thorough knowledge of good laboratory practices, laboratory safety, SOPs and risk assessment. I am also very experienced in organising a laboratory, managing orders and overseeing stock control. I have a clear understanding of the setting up of experiments and reporting on outcomes. I am currently responsible for maintaining and developing a portfolio of experiments for different degree programmes in UCC (Medical, Pharmacy and Science programmes), and am skilled in routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. In addition, I regularly provide induction, training and supervision to all levels of students (both undergraduate and post graduate), as well as to postdocs, research assistants and demonstrators in all aspects of working in a lab (i.e, in the correct use of equipment, in data collection techniques, and in lab safety). I have well developed research skills having collected, analysed data and published a number of research papers. I have also made Oral and Poster Presentations at conferences in Ireland, Europe and the US. I am experienced in writing grant applications and reports according to the requirements of numerous funding agencies. I have also written up results in lab books and for various internal reports. I have excellent IT skills. I am able to use Microsoft Office and software required for data analysis.
