About Anja Werner
I am an historian of transcultural German and American history of the 19th and 20th centuries. I focus on the transfer of knowledge and culture in the Atlantic World, whereby I am particularly interested in including non-Western and minority perspectives, such as those of d/Deaf scholars, activists, and contemporary witnesses in Europe, North America and West Africa. For this, I prepared with colleagues guidelines about how to reduce communication barrieres when teaching and studying history. We also prepared inclusive teaching materials for history Moreover, I have special expertise in the field of Public History-check out the Motion Comics about the German division that I prepared with colleagues and students in cooperation with the Marienborn Memorial to Divided Germany (https://mocom-memories.de/en/home/).
