Background
About Anjali Mathai
DEIB work is never transactional. If we want it to be transformational, it has to be relational."-Aiko Bethea "Change is hard because people overestimate the value of what they have- and underestimate the value of what they may gain by giving that up."-James Belasco & Ralph Stayer" My entire life, I have engaged with people and learned about their worlds. I have listened to their stories, passions, hopes, and dreams. I feel honored when they allow me to play a small role in their lives, in any positive, meaningful, and impactful way that I can, personally and/or professionally. This core, natural passion for people that I have, launched me into a career in Social Work. In that complicated, people-serving world, I learned about one's strengths/weaknesses, motivators/de-motivators, priorities/ commitments, fears/ courage, and professional values. For the duration of my 17+ year career, I also stood at the intersection of people, communication, systems, structures, and organizations, where my love for Change Management and Organizational Design was born. I love the work that I do- helping people and organizations become the best version of themselves- and I lead by example. I do this work as an organizational, cultural, and impactful change agent who believes in peoples’ potential and value and always puts them first. I demonstrate mutual respect, integrity, care, kindness, and empathy for others. I believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as communication and relationship building are the pillars of any successful organization. My experience has taught me that happier, engaged, and empowered employees become valuable assets who perform better, demonstrate best practices, create improved outcomes and increased profits for their organization. In addition, I have discovered that great insight, strategic vision, and leadership is crucial to cultivating a great work culture where employees and consumers can benefit and thrive, and successes are endless.
