About Ankana Roy

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher (since 2021) in Prof. M. G. Finn’s lab in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Tech, USA and closely collaborate with Prof. Ryan Lively’s lab in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech, USA. My research focuses on the development of efficient sorbent and technology for high capacity carbon di-oxide capture processes. My experience in Finn and Lively groups advanced my scientific knowledge towards solving real-world challenges, contributing to the successful development and implementation of innovative solutions through cutting-edge research in chemistry and chemical engineering. My career is distinguished by robust blend of organic synthesis, polymer chemistry and chemical engineering applications. During my Ph.D.(2016-2021), in Ariel University, Israel, I was working towards development of metallopeptide catalysts for the hydrolytic degradation of organophosphate toxins. In this particular venture, I briefly learnt biotechnological techniques for catalyst identification and isolation. During my Masters (2013-2015), in Vellore Institute of Technology, India, I gained expertise in asymmetric organo-catalysis in order to understand and fine-tune catalytic processes to achieve stereochemically controlled reactions.
