About Anke Renkens

As Supply Chain Category Portfolio & Innovation Assistant Manager at Unilever Europe, I manage complex innovation and portfolio optimisation projects across several cross-category brands within the Personal Care space. I represent the end to end supply chain and together with the cross-functional team am responsible to deliver projects (products!) to the markets on time in full. Since 2018, I dedicate my spare time to be a volunteer for Girl Gone International (GGI). As Community Lead for the local The Hague chapter I've actively monitored and engaged the community, growing it from 500 to members in 3 years. I coordinated, organised & co-hosted 1-13 social events a month and succesfully guided the community through the covid-19 pandemic. I onboarded close to 20 members into local leadership roles before handing over to a team of co-Community Leaders to succeed me. Since 2023 I am leading GGI's Community Health globally, creating a data analytics role from scratch, designing dashboards and presenting community insights in support of our 200+ teams and volunteers worldwide, whilst still organising a monthly social event for GGI The Hague. From 2015 I also annually volunteer at the Movies That Matter (MtM) filmfestival. More than just a movie festival, MtM is a not-for-profit foundation using film to promote awareness and the discussion about human rights, sustainability and a just society. Since the 2022 edition, I am promoted to temporary festival staff as Location/Site Manager for MtM in Filmhuis Den Haag. I make sure all films, Q & As and other programming start as per schedule (5 screening rooms, 1 workshop room, cafe and foyer areas), coordinate with the cinema's events & production team as well as technicians, and oversee and manage the 100 volunteers working on my location during the festival. Reading all of the above, I guess there's one conclusion: I like to keep myself busy, preferably within different fields. But above all, I like to contribute and facilitate - whether strategically or operationally - to organisations and causes I believe in. People give me energy, complexity keeps me on my toes and my curious and inquisitive nature has opened doors. I'm enthusiastic and approachable but also no-nonsense Dutch direct with a very high appreciation for consistency and transparency. I like to lead by example and am not afraid to set my own boundaries and speak my mind.
