About Anke Versluis

Hi everyone ‍, I am Anke Versluis and I am a health psychologists and behavioral scientist in the Prevention, Population Health and Disease Management research program at Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, the Netherlands. I work as an assistant professor at the department of Public Health and Primary Care and National eHealth Living Lab (NeLL). My research focuses on empowering people and finding new ways to support them with self-management strategies to prevent and/or reduce disease burden. I have experience in developing (together with relevant stakeholders), evaluating and implementing (digital) interventions for behavior change. My specific interest and focus is on mental health promotion and stress reduction. In addition to my research, I am a coordinator of the minor ‘Lifestyle Medicine & Primary Care’. In this minor, third year medical students are challenged to think about future developments and innovations within lifestyle medicine and primary health care. Also, I supervise - as co-promotor - a number of PhD students who work on innovative projects in (mental) healthcare.
