Career objective: I am interested to develop a career, where, I can combine molecular biology skills to determine developmental/adaptation clues at both transcriptional and translational level in an organism during stress. Research Experience: I studied the expression of Cocculus hirsutus trypsin inhibitor (ChTI) gene in chickpea for resistance to Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera litura during my PhD research. The research was concentrated on the development of resistance to field pests in chickpea by expressing trypsin inhibitor (ChTI) from Cocculus hirsutus. Multiple parameters influencing in-vitro regeneration of shoots and transformation efficiency were improved by 2.36% than reported earlier. The transgenics were validated by Southern blot, western blot and Q-PCR analysis. The overall mortality of 60-80% and 50-60% weight loss were recorded against Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera litura through detached leaf feed assay and further preferential feed choice was shown by 2nd instar larvae.
