About Ankur Shrestha

Ankur is an Assistant Manager in MSC’s Digital Financial Services Domain focused on Payments and Distribution in Nepal. He works in Nepal and is a researcher with over 4 years of experience gained through projects with international funding agencies, international universities, and community-based institutions in Nepal. His areas of expertise include policy analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, and project management.Before joining MSC, Ankur was the Research and Program Officer at the Nepal Institute for Policy Research where he led project implementation, stakeholder engagement, research report writing, and oversaw all data related works of the organization. He was the focal person and the research officer for the Nepal Competitiveness Index (NCI), one of NIPoRe’s flagship initiatives and the institute’s collaborative effort with the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.He was also previously involved as a Communication Officer with Ujyalo Foundation and volunteered at Sangat Nepal, a feminist network. He has over four years of experience in research and communications in areas pertaining to economic development, youth empowerment, feminism, knowledge management, research, and policy advocacy focused mainly on Nepal and its neighbors.He holds a Master’s degree with specialisation in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Tribhuvan University in Nepal. He also received a fellowship in International Relations from the Institute of South Asian Studies at Sichuan University, China.
