Background
About Anmarie Trimble
I have an interdisciplinary background in peer-based learning, literature, music and multimedia arts. My teaching combines student-centered and trauma-informed pedagogies with cross-cultural understanding, currently through my Freshman Inquiry course, Health, Happiness & Human Rights, and my Indigenous Education & Garden Senior Capstone, which is a 18+ year collaboration with the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA). In addition to being an teaching associate professor for Portland State's University Studies program and affiliate faculty for Indigenous Nations Studies, I lead workshops for educators and others on trauma-informed teaching and peer collaboration. I'm also a musician and creative lead for the literary art-rock band little hexes, and create multimedia installations in collaboration with Sticky Culture that center community building, play, and empathy.
