About Ann Cook

I have worked as a surgical nurse for sixteen years. I have worked at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Adventist Lagrange Hospital, Little Company of Mary Hospital and A New You Plastic Surgery. My experience includes Vascular, Thoracic, General, Plastics, Gynecological, Kidney Transplant and some Adult Open Heart surgery. I have the experience to be the scrub and /or circulating nurse in the operating room and assisting in vascular surgery. I have worked as Clinial Manager of the anesthesia team. I work as a Pre-Surgery Holding Room, Anesthesia Nurse. As a peri anesthesia registered nurse I care for patients having surgery, regional nerve blocks, epidural catheters, epidural blood patches and assist anesthesia is minor procedures. As a senior nurse in this department I complete the staff monthly and daily schedules. I am a member of the Shared Practice Council and co-chair of the department unit council. I am a member of the Magnet, Performance Improvement, High Reliability Safety and Professional Development committee. I complete five month audits for the department. I have worked for Elara home health care. As a home Health nurse, I completed at home visits for patients. I performed physical assessments, wound care, referred patients to therapist that will be needed to improve their healing. I communicated with physicians to discuss each patients plan of care.
