Background
About Ann Griffiths
I'm driven by work that ultimately helps people achieve their potential and goals. I'm inspired by what enables people to overcome adversity and how services and systems can best help that happen. My strengths mean I do this best working on public policy, strategy, programme oversight, research, evaluation, and influencing, combining my eye for detail with my ability to conceptualise and translate complex information and big ideas into strategies, plans, and then reality, working alongside delivery teams. I'm currently Head of Policy & Research at the Royal British Legion, a role combining my professional passions with my deep connection and desire to contribute to the armed forces community - the people I care about most in the world. Prior to that I provided strategy & policy consultancy for St Giles Trust, and led the UK Peer Advisor Network, a £3.6m programme of lived-experience-led service delivery, design, and evaluation in local services. Before this, I was the children & young people (CYP) lead for the Money and Pensions Service, creating the UK's first commissioning strategy for financial education and delivering a £2.5m pa programme of policy influencing, research, service commissioning, and evaluation to improve delivery. Previously, I worked at the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF), helping local service commissioners design and deliver evidence-based strategies and outcomes measurement systems for early intervention services for children and families. I was Head of Policy at Ealing Council, where I set up the first work in Ealing to systematically identify and work collaboratively with families known to multiple agencies. I ran the Local Strategic Partnership, and delivered local responses to policy developments including the Troubled Families Programme, Localism Act, Social Value Act, and Equality Act. I've led reviews of policy and service delivery on wide-ranging topics including Domestic Abuse, Adult Learning, community engagement, and reducing multiple disadvantage. I've designed and facilitated training, workshops, and conferences, and love public speaking. I love learning, am curious about everything, and enjoy bringing diverse ideas and people with different views and expertise together to help solve problems.
