About Ann Kruse

I am currently a Grant Manager for the VIRCA Plus project at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. VIRCA Plus works to deliver improved cassava to communities where it is most needed. I manage the project's multi-donor, multi-million dollar budgets and facilitate reporting and compliance. Before coming to the Danforth Center, I worked in administrative roles at Webster University and University of Missouri-Extension, giving me a total of 15+ years' experience in working in higher education and research settings. I have been fortunate to work with programs such as UM-Extension's Family Nutrition Education Program and Webster University's Interdisciplinary Studies. The most rewarding part of my job at the Danforth Center is working with the diverse and international teams who collaborate on VIRCA Plus. Whether it's organizing the logistics for a meeting in East Africa or managing the budgets that support the research, I know that my contribution is essential to the successful realization of project goals. On two occasions, my organizational skills and love of learning have received formal recognition. In 2003, I was honored by the Family Nutrition Education Program (FNEP) as the FNEP Support Person of the Year. Then upon my graduation from Eden Theological Seminary, I received the 2007 Interpretation Award. I have a BA in English from Stephens College and an MTS in Theological Studies from Eden Theological Seminary. I am always interested in hearing from former colleagues and old friends.
