About Ann Majure

I am a Board Certified Music Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist with 3 and a half years of professional experience beginning in a private practice contract position in the Twin Cities to now working with St. Croix hospice in North Branch, MN. In my job at SCH, I've been working on educating and advocating for the music therapy profession as part of the interdisciplinary team and have succeeded in working with our administration to solidify the music therapy progam at SCH.Prior to my professional career, I Graduated from the University of Iowa and had a wonderful 1040 hour internship at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City, IA. Ever since my job beginning at St. Croix Hospice, I have found my passion in caring for people at the end of life. Hospice can be so stigmatized and I want to help spread the message that hospice care is simply about comfort, peace, and quality of life. My numerous patient care hours and variety of experiences sets me apart from my peers. I have worked as a nursing assistant in both long-term palliative care and short-term acute/emergency care, I have experience as a mental health support professional in Hab-Homes and been given the opportunity to lead and plan a music group for the associated Dayhab program. My experience as an employee has given me the context to help me visualize and digest the massive amounts of information I have learned at the University of Iowa's Music Therapy program.I have a deep passion for ongoing learning. I believe I will never know all I need to know and the more I can learn the better patient care I will be able to provide. Throughout my career I would love to go on to get my LPC as well as my masters in music therapy or possibly study neurology. Please contact me with opportunities for further learning if you have them!
