About Ann Parker

27 years of experience in non-profit association management in small organizations means I’ve worn many hats. In addition to non-profit experience, I also spent 14 years focused primarily on my first passion - politics. I’ve stood on the marble tiles of several State Capitols and pitched a point of view, done some public speaking and negotiated the finer points of amendments to legislation. I’ve managed a $5 million budget and it is tied to a strategic plan that is a living, breathing document and not something that is written and forgotten. The strategic goals are also tied to employee goals, performance measures and compensation. Managing investments is a key component to managing finances. I've been lucky enough to work for an organization that has a substantial reserve account. I worked with investment advisors to develop an asset class allocation, performance benchmarks for both the funds and the advisors. Are you familiar with the alphabet soup that is human resources jargon? FLSA, COBRA, HRA, HSA, ACA and CDHP? I know what they are and how to administer them. All have been a part of my daily routine as an HR generalist for up to 27 employees. I have planned meetings for groups as small as 5 and as many as 700 people and have the gray hair to prove it. My political science degree didn’t prepare me to manage architects, contractors, real estate brokers and commercial movers to build out and move into square feet of office space, but I’ve done that, too. If you need it to be researched, analyzed, organized and completed on time, consider it done. You know people like me are needed in this world to make the trains run on time. I am an avid NASCAR fan and have been to 9 race tracks around the US to follow the sport. I can also claim attendance at football games in all 14 of the Big Ten stadiums. I’ve also been lucky enough to travel the world and see some beautiful sights.
