About Ann Schmidt

Dedicated and highly motivated genetic counselor with over 20 years of experience in the field of genetics. The majority of my career has been spent in clinical genetic counseling, both in clinic as well as telegenetics, with a focus on hereditary cancer. I am passionate about making genetic information accessible to everyone, regardless of location and enjoy being part of a team that is creating user-friendly, digital education tools as an alternative service delivery model. I also have experience with genetic testing utilization management both within prior authorization and Payment Integrity. In my current role I serve as the policy subject matter expert on the Payment Integrity team. I am responsible for policy analyses, maintaining claims edits rationale content along with maintenance and review of references and professional society guidelines. I am responsible for a variety of projects and work closely with team members from various backgrounds as well as clients.
