Have an attitude of gratitude, Laugh often, Be kind". My current role is Practice Manager. This role incorporates all office management functions, HR and project management responsibilities. I am also self employed - contracting accounts administration and book keeping services. I moved to Tairanga in 2015 and have worked in 2 law firms (prior to my current position) which both were incorporated into out of town firms. My previous position was Accounts Services Manager for Tompkins Wake, a large law firm in Hamilton NZ. In this role I managed a team of four dealing with all aspects of both client and firm money. The most exciting part of our job was knowing that our input is integral to the results of clients, from completing settlements for external clients to accurate cashflow and budgeting predictions for the owners, and everything in-between. A personal achievement of mine while working at Tompkins Wake was the successful integration of data from two different law firms (at different times) to ours which took a lot of time and thought mapping but resulted in a seamless integration with minimal disruption for those affected. Before joining Tompkins Wake, I worked for two other law firms — McKay Law and Swarbrick Dixon- and I also co-owned two businesses - one was a Telco contracting firm and the other was in the Hospitality/Gaming sector. I’m truly passionate about my work and achieving results. While I enjoy all aspects of my job and work hard at them, I am also passionate about achieving a work-life balance and to that end while I focus on doing a great job at work I also aspire to spending time creating a great family. I have a Diploma of Law from Waikato University and a Certificate of Business Studies from Massey University. I am also a qualified Legal Executive.
