About Anna Ackerman

Over the past ten years I've been lucky enough to explore, work, learn and volunteer in over thirty countries. During my three years in Berlin I studied International Social Work and Human Rights, and wrote my thesis on the topics of gender, masculinity, stress and emotional affect. I've had hundreds of incredible conversations with people who come from all different types of backgrounds, and from all of these interactions, my biggest take away is that each one of us, no matter our life experiences or beliefs, want to feel safe and like we are seen and understood. After graduating, I got the incredible chance to join the team at Aletheia Research Institution to continue exploring ways in which we can make the places we learn, work and live more emotionally healthy and safe places to be. Through continuing on in research and education, I’m hoping to improve the overall wellbeing of those at our schools, our jobs and within our communities. I'm so excited to be venturing down this path, and can't wait to see where it leads me!
