About Anna Arkun

I’ve always been passionate about strategizing - I just didn’t know it. Sounds convincing, doesn’t it? Let me explain - or blame my dad (his company was all about continuous change management. so go figure). I played soccer for almost two decades, loved the game and a fire was lit when we started to practice tactics and strategies (not that I knew the words back then, at the time it was just long ball, possession etc.). It was fascinating to play and make knowledge-based strategic decisions whilst running (and yes, they told me I played smart). And as a team we started winning when we realized that instead of trying to outperform one another – the power was quite literally, in teamwork. Something that was great learning back then, since succeeding in work life requires soft skills and an ability to work in different and often changing teams (doesn’t hurt to be a positive and social person with a sense of humor either ). Fast forward to my first job (working for my dad) transferring information from paper forms to a computer program. The process was to write some of the same information to two places – I questioned it and the result was that it was unnecessary.(And yes, I enjoyed being able to suggest to my dad a more effective way to do the job ). But his response was also top notch, he complemented me for my findings and told me to keep my eyes open for further observations about inefficiency. Adding fuel to the flames. At work I’ve always focused on the what if’s - how they could be solved and how to achieve even better outcomes in the long run (even when it wasn’t my responsibility, sorry - not sorry). My endless curiosity and hunger to learn more has led to great strategic thinking skills. I’m able to gather and synthesize broad information and identify patterns – connect the dots and make plans & decisions accordingly. I wear the experienced pants of a salesperson, marketer, data-analyst, and decision maker. The latest outcome of my hunger to learn more, is starting master’s studies 🤓 specializing in ‘strategizing in business’ (and yes, my dad’s facial expression when I told him this - should be a meme for “ha-ha I win”).
