About Anna Fox

Hi! My name's Anna. I recently graduated from Trent University with a Honours BSc in Biomedical Science. This unique program not only broadened my academic horizons but has also provided me with personalized mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, and essential support. Offered by the biomedical science program, I have completed my undergraduate honours thesis; a pilot study focusing on the state mental health and well-being impacts faced by student-athletes attending a Canadian versus American post-secondary institutions. I have also recently finished an Internship in Medical Sciences at Peterborough Regional Health Center offered by my program where I had the privilege of shadowing excellent physicians at PRHC. I am now starting my journey as a research Masters student in Environmental and Life Sciences at Trent university and will be focusing on the psychosocial impact of volunteering at recreational camp in healthcare professionals. Beyond academics, I have been a proud member of the Trent University women's varsity rugby team for the past 3 years. My passion for continuous learning extends beyond the classroom, as I regularly volunteer, taking on leadership roles such as serving as the President of the Trent University Hockey Club, and enjoying my current role as assistant coach for a U13 girl's hockey team. I am also thrilled to be a member of the volunteer team at PRHC as well as the Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program. In my pursuit of professional development, I served as an Academic Assistant for an Introductory Cell and Molecular Biology class lab during my 3rd and 4th year as an undergraduate student, where I had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and fostering the learning journeys of others. Additionally, during my final semester as an undergraduate student at Trent University, I had the opportunity to take on a bigger leadership role as a Student Lab Demonstrator for Trent's Foundations of Biomedical Science course. I have recently started in a new role as Graduate Teaching Assistant for a 2nd year Kinesiology/Psychology course. Eager to further develop my professional and soft skills, I am particularly drawn to opportunities within patient care and research settings. As a natural problem solver, I am driven by the challenge of finding innovative solutions to complex issues. I am excited about the prospect of connecting with like-minded individuals who share my passion for medicine, education, and making a positive impact in the world.
