About Anna Geddes

I am a consultant, advisor and researcher with a focus on sustainable finance, especially green banks and the role of public and development finance in innovation and the energy transition. With experience as a Chemical Engineer and Risk Consultant in the energy, mineral and mining sectors, I also follow the role and impact of ESG and climate disclosure requirements on the future of the (sustainable) finance sector. I completed my doctoral dissertation at ETH Zürich on “Green state investment banks: Their role in mobilising finance to accelerate the energy transition and the politics behind their establishment and design” in 2020. I also have an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London. Prior to entering the renewable energy sector, I worked as a Chemical Engineer and Risk consultant in the coal mining, minerals, energy, and oil & gas sectors in various countries including Australia, Indonesia, India, South Africa, South Korea, and the USA.
