About Anna Gibson

I love road tripping in both city and country with my son, but I didn’t love the bulkiness of packing jackets AND sleeping bags. I wanted a way to combine the “warm all day” jacket with the “warm all night” sleeping bag, and an idea was born—the sleeping bag coat/wearable sleeping bag. As it turned out, the first models had recently been introduced to the market. And they were functional, to be sure. But as someone with a design background, I wanted to inject aesthetic and innovation with my designs. Warm, functional, and stylish too. Something I wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen in during a petrol station pit stop, sleeping overnight at the airport landover, shopping for groceries, strolling in the city streets or wandering a campsite on freezing mornings and evenings. Capitalising on my clothing design background, I started designing and creating sleeping bag coat mock-ups with a fresh approach inspired by deconstruction fashion, outdoor wear, modern travelers, and a high-end streetwear aesthetic. I founded KkIP, and eight iterations later, my team and I have created two thoughtfully designed premium products for today’s spontaneous adventurers who want it all: a stylish jacket and multi-functional sleeping bag coat that’s lightweight, seamless to use, and sustainably produced. In addition to outstanding functionality and design aesthetic, I went to great effort to source sustainable premium materials and manufacturing, including YKK zippers, 100% recyclable fabrics from Japan, and responsibly-sourced down insulation. We’re excited to be expanding production of our unisex adult and child-size versions end of 2023.
