I'm a reporter at Re: News, an online news and current affairs platform making videos, articles and documentaries that cover the issues that matter to young New Zealanders. I was previously Head of Content there for three years but missed doing stories too much so now am back to being a journalist! Message me at anna@renews.co.nz or @HarcourtAnna on Twitter- I co-directed a short documentary about love in the wake of the Christchurch terror attacks, which won the 2020 Voyager Media Award for Best Long Current Affairs TV/video. You should watch it here, it will make you cry though: The judges said:"This incredible story had to be the winner; it taught us something essential, compassion, which shone through this accomplished and nuanced work. It was a touching, emotional story from a unique perspective looking at many different layers such as loss, race, religion, tolerance, acceptance and love. The structure, the characters chosen, and camerawork were excellent." It was part of the series Rediscovering Aotearoa, which I co-directed along with Kayne Ngātokowhā Peters. The episode Whānau about abuse in care, was also nominated in that category- I was Supervising Producer for BABY, a five-part short doco series joining babies at their 21st birthdays, nominated for Best Video Documentary Series at the 2023 Voyager Awards- I was the editorial supervisor for Third Culture Minds, a mental health short doco series created and hosted by Guled Mire for Re: News, which won the Mental Health Service Awards of Australia and New Zealand’s Special Media Journalism Award- I also co-hosted the Vaxathon in 2021, dipping my toes into live television for the first time with a nice relaxing eight-hour broadcast- In 2019 I won the Voyager award for Best feature video (single videographer).
