About Anna Harris

As an Associate Professor of Social Studies of Medicine at Maastricht University, I combine my background in anthropology and medicine to explore the intersections of culture, health, and technology. I have over 10 years of experience in conducting and teaching qualitative research, academic writing, and sensory ethnography in various academic institutions and settings. I have just recently finished a European Research Council-funded project Making Clinical Sense that investigates how doctors are trained to use their senses in the digital age, and how this affects their clinical practice and patient care. I am also a proud member of the Global Young Academy, a network of young researchers that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and social impact. I am passionate about sharing my insights and findings on medicine and other crafts, and occasionally write about topics such as pneumatic tube systems.
