About Anna Hildebrand
I most recently worked as a research assistant at Imperial College London. Upon completion of my master’s thesis, I was awarded funding from the UKRI Impact Acceleration Account to advance my work to the next phase of development. My work was published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (Anal. Methods, 2024,16, 161-169). I earned a Master’s degree in Medical Device Design and Entrepreneurship from Imperial College London in 2022. My thesis addressed the prevalence of poor-quality antimalarials in low-resource settings through the development of a medicine quality screening device. My Master’s thesis had a dual focus on engineering and business. The engineering component involved wet lab work to develop proof-of-concept for the device, which included biosensor and algorithm development. The business component included market analysis, business strategy development, regulatory and reimbursement requirements, and financial projections. Before I came to Imperial College, I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.
