About Anna Hoghton

Experienced Senior Creative Copywriter and Content Creator. I specialise in creating engaging, inspiring, thoughtful and poetic content for digital (including video) and print. Brands I've worked with/am working with include Nkuku, Graham and Green, Sawday's, The Soil Association, Coca Cola, Disney and Oral-B, as well as others. I have an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. I have written and directed several award-winning short films. My environmental-action short film 'Never Land' won the 2019 Women in Film and Television Award for best narrative and starred Keeley Hawes, John Nettles and Marcus Brigstocke. I'm a multi-award-winning, internationally published author. My debut novel 'The Mask of Aribella'(Chicken House Books) won the 2020 North Somerset Teacher's Book Award and the 2021 Weald Book Award. It has been published in the UK, Germany and Russia and is available in paperback, ebook and audiobook formats. My second novel 'Orla and the Wild Hunt'(Chicken House Books) was published in 2022. I have been represented by Caroline Walsh at David Higham Associates for the past five years. I'm a published poet who was one of 15 'leading U.K. poets' asked to read at the 2016 Bristol Festival of Ideas. I was shortlisted for the Lancelot Andrewes Award by the then poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy. In 2020 I won the Bathnes Lockdown Poetry Competition. I am Co-Founder of the international, conscious-lifestyle, photo-journalism blog 'Make a Place', which centres around makers, the places they make in and the place they'd like to make the world. I have worked as a freelance journalist for the travel and lifestyle magazines Lodestar Anthology and Curio Magazine.
