About Anna Jeffries

I am based in Brisbane but regularly work in Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. Since 2005 I have worked in a variety of roles across factual, drama, interactive and commercial formats. For the last 9 years, I've worked in documentary series, most recently as Director and Series Producer. After graduating from the VCA School of Film + Television. I started as a camera assistant, primarily to Oscar-winning Cinematographer Greig Fraser. I was mentored by Emmy-award winning director Jessica Hobbs on TANGLE and later did an internship with Jovita O'Shaughnessy on NEIGHBOURS…. aka directing bootcamp. My indepedent documentary FROHE OSTERN! drew unprecedentedly high ratings on SBS for an acquired single – SBS’ highest rating program day of TX. My interests and experience is broad, from cosmology to ancient history, multicultural identity, personal biographies, DNA, linguistics, social history and fly-on-wall workplace ob-docs. Committed to a long-term career directing documentary, I am eager to collaborate on programs of factual integrity. My work includes programs for Australian and international broadcasters including NAT GEO/Disney+ ABC, SBS, NITV, BBC, Discovery, Network 7 and TEN.
