Anna-Julia is a banking and consulting professional with international experience across the UK, US, and Germany, spanning retail banking, capital markets, and financial crime compliance. She currently serves as Deputy Head of Compliance at Domestic & General, supporting the European business with regulatory oversight, policy implementation, and financial crime risk management, while acting as deputy MLRO. Prior to joining Domestic & General, Anna-Julia was Vice President in HSBC’s US Compliance COO Office, and earlier served as US Head of Governance and Secretariat within HSBC’s Financial Crime Threat Mitigation department. Her core expertise includes KYC, AML, SAR reporting, and the design and implementation of robust Compliance frameworks. She began her career at Accenture, supporting large-scale transformation projects from mortgage platform replacements, to full end-to-end banking integrations and collateral management redesigns in investment banking. Anna-Julia is passionate about enabling sustainable compliance cultures and building high-performing, collaborative teams. She thrives at the intersection of regulation and business, always aiming to create practical, risk-aware solutions that work in real life. Originally from Germany, she studied Business Administration at the University of Bath and has worked in London and New York before returning to Germany, where she is now based.
