Background
About Anna Kallschmidt
What do fiddle solos and change management have in common? Overcoming the anxiety of something new for the sake of a better song. I identified the unwritten rules of work to guide the whole band to achieve and sustain culture change. I love molding an organization where managers know how to draw the freshest and most innovative ideas out of their teams because everyone knows they can work together and disagree in harmony. I started working for myself when I was 12 - teaching piano lessons out of our living room. My best friend’s piano teacher moved away, and there was nobody else in our small town to replace them. So I told her I could do it. I learned that an individual can be an agent of change. This is a telling tale about my approach to work: 1. I’m scrappy and find a way to make things happen, & 2. I focus more on what I have than what I don’t - I had skills to share with my community, not a lack of piano teachers. Today, I am passionate about helping people identify their role in change. In a world that bristles at the term privilege, I empower individuals to recognize the areas in which they have power so they know what they can offer others on their teams. I’m who you bring in when you’re trying to build a team out or an organization struggling with workplace conflict. I’m a North Florida native who’s spent seven years working in DEI (I think speaking truth to power sounds best with a southern drawl, don’t you?). Consequently, I am able to work with people with diverse origins stories and join them on the journey from defensiveness to collaboration…because it’s a journey I’ve taken many times myself. My skillset in industrial-organizational psychology provides me with a toolbox to approach issues holistically and armed with mixed-methods data analysis to demonstrate results. For example, I have coupled my knowledge of selection with curriculum development to boost my client’s employee retention by 30%. As an older sister of four brothers, I’m the go-to person for putting chaos on a calendar. In my project management, I am skilled in identifying, organizing, managing, and tracking multiple facets of a project at once while also building relationships. The creative musician loves to identify the individual notes of an issue and rewrite them into a roadmap for success. These roadmaps have awarded my previous employers close to $1 million dollars in new business.
