Background

About Anna Kamanzi

Driven by a desire to understand and improve the human condition, I have devoted my education to anthropology - the study of people across time and space. I have channeled this desire into research, evaluation, and project management work in international development across various topics including fintech and financial inclusion, biodiversity conservation, and Indigenous rights for organizations such as the World Bank and USAID. I am an experienced and award winning social scientist with expertise in political ecology, community-based research, and social protection. I have also been a teaching assistant for the past six years where I have been trained in and implemented inclusive pedagogy, universal design for learning, and remote/hybrid course design and instruction. I love teaching practical skills such as research design, qualitative methods, and writing for diverse audiences. As a two-time Fulbright research grantee currently in the final stages of completing my PhD, I am seeking to begin a career which brings together my passion for social and environmental justice with my drive for effective and culturally responsive communication and efficient project management. I have spent more than two years conducting research in Rwanda (with interest in the Great Lakes region more broadly), but I am always eager to learn about new people, places, and ways to make a difference! I am skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration, project management and evaluation, research and analysis, pedagogical wellness, and ethnography.
