About Anna Kapusta

I hold Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture and have over 12 years of professional experience. Currently I work as an Urban Designer at the City of Victoria, BC and I love my job. When I arrived in Vancouver in 2008 I joined PWL Partnership, a well recognized landscape architecture and urban design firm, where I took a role of Design Associate for 9 years. In my work, I mainly focus on large scale concept design, masterplanning, urban design and public realm projects as well as neighborhood planning. I developed design guidelines, planning policies and proposals for several municipalities in British Columbia at the city and regional levels. I have also worked internationally in United States, Europe and as (acting) Design Director in China. Diverse, broad experience gives me perspective on design and business aspects of the profession and allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of relationship between various design professions such as urban design, architecture, landscape architecture and engineering. I apply this knowledge in my everyday design work by integrating urban design principals and other design considerations into public realm and master planning projects to produce progressive, sustainable, practical and responsible policies. I am a service oriented team player, enthusiastic problem solver and a true believer in multi-disciplinary approach that includes the ecological, historical, and cultural aspects of the landscape and produces the most robust and meaningful designs. In my work, the goal is to create innovative, imaginative places that incorporate both social and environmental benefits.
