About Anna Lamb

Hi, all! I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Accounting in August 2024 from Clemson University. Now, I’m beginning my career with a full-time position as an Assurance Staff at Smith + Howard with an intention to pursue my EA and move toward taxation. At Smith + Howard, I have the privilege to learn from experienced CPAs about the application of accounting principles while preparing tax returns and financial statements and performing review and audit engagements. As a staff accountant, my main responsibility is preparing workpapers to test the reliability of financial data for review and audit engagements; however, I am also responsible for preparing tax returns in addition to all supporting workpapers for smaller tax return engagements. Because of my experience in both assurance and tax, I understand how numbers flow from the client's books, through the attest engagement, to form the financial statements, and to their tax return. With knowledge of both, I have decided to move towards a specialty in tax accounting. My old firm's, Smith Kesler & Co.'s, merger with Smith + Howard has encouraged me to make this transition to tax. I appreciate the daily challenges and meaningful connection with clients that accounting offers. I especially love our office's expertise in the construction industry. With the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson booming in size, developing an expertise in construction accounting has prepared me for many future opportunities in the area I love. Smith + Howard has provided me with an amazing start to my career, and I am excited to grow and learn through experience while I pursue my CPA license.
