About Anna Mahood

I am an experienced general manager, with a strong HR and legal background gained in Auckland and London, who loves to improve organisations for the benefit of all. As a leader of teams in fast paced organisations, I have improved processes through new ideas and techniques that inspire individuals to be connected, innovative and incentivised. As General Manager at Drug Free Sport, the national anti-doping organisation in New Zealand, I bring my technical legal background, management and HR skills to support clean sport in Aotearoa and create a fair environment for all. Part of the role involves implementing new techniques, tools and processes to stay ahead. My style as a leader is informal and collaborative and I am a big believer in an open environment with an even playing field for everyone. Prior, I was an HR Business Partner at Spark New Zealand responsible for several operational areas, including marketing, finance and data & automation. I was also senior counsel at Spark in the regulatory and competition team dealing with Fair Trading Act, privacy, litigation management and lawful interception (including appearing before the Select Committee on legislative reform). I challenge myself to continue to improve and learn. With degrees in law and science, I regularly update my skills and recently completed a Stanford University program on human-centric innovation.
