About Anna Manzo

I graduated from CSUN in 2018 with a BS in Kinesiology, specializing in Sports Studies, with the initial goal of pursuing Sports Psychology. I never imagined I would have the opportunity to work at my dream gym, Barbell Brigade, but not only did I join the team, I quickly rose to the position of General Manager. In this role, I took on sole responsibility alongside the owners, transforming the gym's atmosphere, driving revenue growth, and implementing loyalty programs that rewarded members with lifetime memberships. My leadership and innovative strategies were crucial in helping the gym survive and thrive during the challenges of the global pandemic. Looking to further expand my business knowledge, I transitioned to a Hub Supervisor position at UPS. In just three months, I was awarded Supervisor of the Month, a testament to my leadership and dedication. However, I wanted even more responsibility, control, and hands-on work in business, which led me to join CSUN's Center for Social and Technology Entrepreneurship as Administrative Support Coordinator. Since joining the Center in 2023, I have made significant contributions, including supporting the Road Map to Exporting Program, leading a high school entrepreneurship summer bootcamp, co-charting the Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society, and serving as Interim Executive Assistant to the Dean of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics. My passion for helping students and the community is evident in the impact I’ve made in just a year, and I am excited to continue this work while pursuing my MBA. Though it’s not in my job description, I am deeply committed to mentoring others and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement. Inspired by the Mamba Mentality, I approach every challenge with the belief that if you want something, anything is possible. Outside of work, I continue to study the mind of the athlete and plan to one day own a gym that integrates sports psychology to help others reach their full potential.
