About Anna Marseglia

I am an Assistant Professor at Karolinska Institutet within the NVS Department, Division of Clinical Geriatrics. I am a Neuropsychologist and holds a PhD in aging epidemiology My research focus on risk and protective factors of vascular cognitive impairment, the underlying cerebral mechanisms (biological processes and brain tissue injury), and resilience pathways, considering sex differences. I use longitudinal data from population-based cohorts and lifestyle intervention studies. In the past 10 years as researcher, I have enhanced skills that I believe are key feature within and outside academia: leadership skills (coordinating and managing projects, including for European consortia, budget), teaching (supervising students, diverse teaching activities), dissemination in the scientific and layman communities, commitment to diversity and inclusion, mentorship, securing research funding, and engaging in other professional services (referees, evaluation of others’ work, editor).
