As a recent graduate of a BSc. in Health Sciences, I gained valuable knowledge in the world of public health, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, and microbiology. Having completed an indepedent directed study in my final semester comparing the growth patterns of yellow-complex bacteria in suspension and as biofilms, I gained a passion for research and laboratory work, and strengthened my aseptic technique. My time at Durham College in the Biotechnology (Fast-Track) has granted me hands-on experience performing SDS-PAGE, column chromatography, tissue culturing, bacterial cell culturing, ELISA, Western blotting, and use of various chromatographic and spectrophotometric instruments.
