About Anna Nuzzolo

Every day I bring to work my experience in communication, leadership, facilitation and change to advance new initiatives and enable a culture of openness and empowerment. The people side of organisational changes, projects and innovations is currently my main focus. This connects well to my personal style, which is people-oriented and dynamic. My experience is multifaceted: in the last 13 years with the European Central Bank, I have enjoyed advising stakeholders at all levels, developing external and internal communication strategies, handling media relations, creating digital content, writing stories and speeches, delivering events, and developing new communication channels and formats. And currently, I am seconded to the Change Competence Centre of the National Bank of Belgium, where we strive to advance change management practices and capabilities for leaders and employees through advice, training, workshops, tools and communication. I am energised by setting up new teams and activities. In 2018 I created from the ground up a new team that has delivered strategic communication for large projects that are changing our way of working at the ECB. The team has also designed and delivered to 800 colleagues a communication empowerment programme – including bootcamps, workshops and an online resource hub. I am proud that I could recently present it to several internal communication conferences and events attracting a lot of interest! The most exciting part of leadership for me so far has been to enable my team to keep up their creativity and always improve their work – while “enjoying the ride”. I like coaching people and helping them to grow and be at their best. As a literature graduate, I always look out for opportunities to put my skills as communicator to the service of culture. For example, I have contributed to the non-profit association Italia Altrove in Frankfurt as moderator of events with renown Italian writers, including Strega-prize winner Paolo Cognetti.
