I am currently a Senior Actuarial Associate in Retirement Consulting and Financial Risk Consulting practices. I work with different types of benefits, such as defined benefit pension plans, target benefit pension plans and post retirement benefits plans. I have a special (strange) love with Excel spreadsheets, as my mom (an accountant) has taught me to use Excel since I was in grade 6. I am also exposed to R, SAS, SQL, VBA and ProVal from combination of work experience, coursework and self-learning. During my years as an international student at Simon Fraser University, I have gained different skillsets from various positions: Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Operations Support Coordinator and also a Supervisor at a fast-food restaurant. I believe there’s always more to learn. My 5 years plan is getting the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA) designation by 2025 and then Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) by 2027.
