About Anna Posacka
I work at the intersection of science, policy, and innovation to advance ocean sustainability. With leadership experience in both the non-profit and private sectors, I’ve led applied, multi-disciplinary programs on global plastic pollution, contributed to initiatives shaping industry practices and government strategies, and helped deliver innovations that reach the market. Today, I am the founder of Ocean Positive, a boutique research and advisory practice for ocean health and innovation. Through this work, I help organizations make informed decisions, strengthen stewardship practices, and apply knowledge to drive solutions that address pollution. I also serve on the National Research Council of Canada’s Ocean Program Advisory Committee and hold a PhD in oceanography with field experience in the Northeast Pacific. Areas of focus: ocean pollution (plastics, microfibres, emerging contaminants), ESG and disclosure trends, innovation pathways, science-to-policy translation, and responsible communication.
