About Anna Rouse

Anna is a highly skilled professional in the field of environmental assessment and management, with over 20 years’ experience. Holding a doctorate in chemical engineering which focused on environmental sustainability and carbon capture technology, Anna has primarily worked on large, complex projects within the oil and gas sector, integrating with and managing teams of professionals to successfully deliver environmental and social impact assessments and related work. This has included supporting numerous onshore, offshore, seismic, drilling, major infrastructure and pipeline projects in international locations, often involving ecologically and socially sensitive habitats. In particular, she has a strong track record within the Caspian region, having led a significant portfolio of environmental and social work for over a decade with AECOM for BP in the Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey region, and has also worked on a diverse variety of projects over her career in the United Kingdom, across Africa including Morroco, Ghana and Gabon, and, most recently, for BP in Indonesia. Anna has strong technical, project and people management skills, and thrives working on complex multidisplicinary projects as part of a multi-skilled team. She is also highly experienced in technical/quality review, financial project management and client liaison and support.Areas of technical competence include:• Screening, scoping and feasibility assessments.• Impact Assesments (EIAs, ESIAs).• Environmental survey design and baseline analyses.• Environmental technical assessments, specifically input to and review of:• Air quality and greenhouse gases, airborne and underwater sound and vibration, discharge and oil spill modelling; and • Surface water, soil, groundwater and ecological/biodiversity assessment.• Social and cultural heritage (tangible/intangible, terrestrial and marine) assessment scoping and review.• Environmental risk and compliance management including Environmental Management Systems (EMS).• Environmental engineering and sustainability implementation support for Concept / FEED / EPC stages.
