About Anna Savill

My career started with a passion for drama, I studied Theatre at the prestigious Arts Educational Schools in London. From there a year spent as an actor with The English Shakespeare Company took me all over the UK teaching and performing. In between acting jobs I put in some serious hours as a Production Assistant for Endemol UK and it was there that my passion for 'getting behind' the camera was ignited. I auditioned of contestants for television game shows, managed locations for entertainment programmes and produced live from reality television galleries. Two years as an Assistant Producer for BBC stalwarts like 'The Weakest Link' further honed my skills as an Entertainment Producer. In 2002 I moved to Chicago and spent 3-years producing television for the award-winning Towers Productions. As a Field Producer on the long-running series 'Storm Stories' I hid in storm shelters while tornado sirens sounded and picked my way through hurricane debris to shine a light on these incredible survivors. As Assistant Producer on American Justice I worked tirelessly to uncover the truth about high profile criminals incarcerated in the U.S prison system. These experiences shaped me into an honest filmmaker with the energy and empathy required to produce great documentaries and work with contributors to ensure the best results. I have also freelanced as a Producer for Maverick Television, 104 Films, The Arts Council, Heritage Lottery Fund and The One Foundation. I've travelled all over the UK teaching film production skills to young people and have received funding to pass on learning and career development to the next generation of filmmakers, specialising in delivering skills to those most at risk. I am now Executive Director with Fruit Tree Films, a wonderfully creative collective of filmmaking professionals delivering top-notch short films for a host of public and private sector clients in the UK. We apply broadcast skills and storytelling passion to every film we produce. In the last 8 years we have produced over 350 films for universities, hospitals, businesses and private clients.
