I am Director of Business Development and Marketing for Conn-Weld where I have worked collectively for over 20 years. I am fortunate to work with some of the best people (special shout out to my team) and I take great pride in working for a manufacturer in Southern West Virginia where our Country Roads Lead Around the Globe! Here are a few things I love about my job. Business Development My development strategy comes down to doing what comes naturally to me – eavesdropping. I am constantly listening to learn any and every way to support my team, whether it’s developing assets and resources or researching market share opportunities. Community I believe development starts in your community by contributing to providing a place where people want to work, live, and raise a family. Whether working with middles school students on a manufacturing project or speaking at our local technical school, nothing is more rewarding to me than being involved with our youth. Authentic Marketing Having worked as a manager in the engineering department has given me a unique perspective in marketing- not only product knowledge, but seeing our incredible engineering team in action. You see firsthand the buzz created in finding solutions for customer’s challenges – it’s like seeing a group of specialized doctors consulting on a patient! Technology Driven Being a baby boomer, I’ve grown into technology as opposed to growing up with it. Overcoming these challenges has only driven me to want to learn more. I love being a part of incorporating new technologies as an extension of customer service. On a personal note, although I love living in VA, I'm remain a Mountaineer at heart where I hope to retire and become a fulltime Baba one day.
