registered nurse (RHH: emergency & psych)- PhD: explores chronic conditions healthcare as experienced by rural/remote clinicians, using ethnographic and qualitative methodologies. Strengths-based analysis on why clinicians stay 'swimming in the stream' doing chronic conditions healthcare. Interests: place and identity, chronic conditions and rurality, arts and health- rural/remote patient advocate - tutor for nursing, health sociology and research subjects (private students esp EN to RN transition; UCanberra; HERC; UTas)- passionate about improving sustainability in healthcare - both personal and environmental. Previous roles- social research (chronic conditions healthcare work, rural health, social impacts of smoke events, retirement intentions)- professional community developer (death literacy, palliative care, rural/remote arts, arts) arts worker (cellist and vocalist) writer (autoethnography) community volunteer and community developer (arts, health, environment) Now insured as Big Sis Services:'crisis doula' support for anyone who needs 'stuff done' during whatever family shenanigans. moving house? somebody hospitalised? who's got the kids/grannie's transport sorted? Think brainstrust/practical help. Non-nursing services only. Three tiered pay scale: 1) gifting economy - exchange labour, credit til later, mates's rates etc. 2) cheap - because you are a low income earner/healthcare card/not got the readies 3) moderate - because I need to earn a living sometimes 4) expensive - consultancy level stuff; PhD related. Think "$0 or $5 or $50 or $500". Those can be hourly or weekly rates. Cover my costs, and I possibly be there at short-ish notice. No one should be without help or support during a crisis. And sometimes we simply can't do everything, and it is easier to delegate. For an hour, or for a week. Washing up and sense of humour likely included.
